TX v OU...ugh!

We all knew we probably weren't going to win the big game this year...but I definitely wasn't prepared for how horrible the Horns looked! Luckily for UT, this little Longhorn was lookin' good!

By halftime Conlee had stripped out of her cheerleader outfit and was much more interested in Halloween goodies from Gigi & Paps...and who could blame her?!

The girls loved their Halloween treats! Thank you, Gigi & Paps!

St. Jude Trike-A-Thon

Conlee's preschool is participating in the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon! She set a fundraising goal of $500, and thanks to her very generous grandparents, she's already reached $400! Just $100 left, so if you're reading this....

I went to watch the kids ride their tricycles today, and it was pretty funny. First of all, out of about 4 classes of two year olds there were probably 60 kids...out of those 60 2 year olds, maybe 4 could actually ride their tricycles. And if you're wondering, Conlee is NOT one of those 4! But, she did have a fun with her buddy Marin. And, they were by far the cutest little trike-a-thoners there!

This is the infamous "Jake"...Conlee talks about him all the time, and she was very excited to introduce me!

Afternoon at the Zoo

I wasn't kidding about getting involved! We are now members of the Little Rock Zoo! At first I scoffed at how small and quite frankly, crappy, the zoo here is. I've definitely been spoiled by the San Diego Zoo...but after a while, I realized that it doesn't take much to entertain a 2 year old. She loved seeing the swans, fish, monkeys, bears, giraffes, elephants and penguins. And, a benefit of a smaller zoo is that it's less crowded and you can get through the entire thing much faster. So, while I will always prefer the SD Zoo, the LR zoo has it's benefits...mainly the girls enjoy it, and that is good enough for me!

Afternoon at the Park

This past Tuesday at bible study we were all given a handout of fun things to do with your children. Surprisingly, it did not say 'Mom play on the iPad while kids watch Curious George!'. But, instead, it offered many different ideas of parks where you can feed the ducks, different fall festivals around Little Rock, pumkin patches, etc. So, in an effort to get more involved, we headed on out to feed the ducks. This is truly one of Conlee's favorite pass times...and, this is a park where I used to feed the ducks when I was little...I'm betting they're different ducks, though!

Sunday Funday with Pops!

Today Brent, Conlee, Reece and I went with Pops to Roc Roe to see his hunting club. Brent has been a few times, but this was the a first for the girls and me. It is so beautiful out there, and I can already imagine the girls running wild all over this place when they are a little older!

Our little crew on the porch of the clubhouse. The club has a clubhouse for members to stay in when they go hunting. It's nothing fancy, but I can totally see why it would be a hunter's paradise. I personally will never stay there, but Brent is really fired up for opening weekend of duck season! We rode the mule all over the club so Pops could show us the different lakes, deer stands, duck blinds and his land. Reece is a speed junkie! She's obsessed with all things fast. She loved the mule, and even though she skipped both naps today, she was squealing with delight the entire time we were on this thing!

Here we are standing where Pops wants to build his house. It's so pretty and peaceful. I can see why it's one of his favorite places!
As a side-note...I'm pretty sure my girls were the first ever to venture to Roe in matching smocked outfits. The foreman told me that most kids wear their play clothes so they can get muddy...I didn't tell him, but these ARE their play clothes!!! (and aren't they so cute!)

Of course Jack was along for the ride

Reece and Daddy riding shotgun and loving it!

Conlee and I were content in the backseat...

and then she'd had enough and decided it was time to drive us back to the car. Dad put a governor on the mule to keep it under 25mph...it's like he's been thru this before or something?!

Texas FIGHT! Texas FIGHT!

I can't believe today is OCTOBER 1! What a difference a year makes! Just had to start this post out with a shot of our Longhorn cheerleader last October...before Reece was even born! Conlee was a Texas Cheerleader for Halloween last year and look how young she looks!!!

Fast Forward one year to this big girl!!!

We also have a new cheerleader on our squad...

I smile every Saturday when I put Reece in this dress because I remember the look on Brent's face when I paid $70 for it when Conlee was 3 months old. He thought I was insane...but of course I knew we would get our money's worth! ;)

Overall, we're pretty distracted and uninterested in the game...but we've got potential!
