Turkey Day in Texas

We traveled to San Angelo last week to celebrate Conlee's first Thanksgiving with Brent's family. It was a long weekend full of fun faces, yummy food and lots of good times. Thanks so much to the Hortons for hosting us! Most of the pictures are on Luke's camera, but here are a few shots from the weekend.

The whole Horton / Waring clan on Thanksgiving day

Our family at the "Turkey Shoot"! Every Thanksgiving morning, everyone who's anyone in the town gathers for the shortest  party ever! At 10:30 we meet at a local bar in San Angelo for bloody mary's. At 11:00 the owner jumps up on the bar and gives about a 10 minute toast....a culmination of the year's political events, a summary of local highlights, etc. Then everyone takes a tequila shot and goes home for lunch. I've been hearing about this tradition for years, but it was my first time to be there. It was definitely a weekend highlight!

It was COLD in San Angelo! Thanks, Mia, for letting us borrow your precious hat. Conlee put it to good use on our morning walks!

Ladies Who Lunch

Courtney and Audrey hosted a group of us at their house for lunch today. Audrey got out all her toys to share, and we had the best time! Conlee loved the balls...that and the swing were her favorites. Audrey is so sweet, and she's going to let Conlee borrow her ball pit for awhile since she's outgrown it. So fun! Thanks, girls, for a great afternoon!

Conlee and Gigi enjoying the balls together

Making a new friend...Gigi James. Gigi is 7 months and can already crawl...she's adorable!

Oh how we wish we had a tree big enough for a swing in our backyard...Conlee loves to swing!

Piper playing the cymbals! Conlee is going to start going to a music class with Audrey & Piper in January. We're super excited!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Stephen!!!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Stephen! We hope you had a grrrrrrrrreat day!!!

The best sound I've ever heard!

Ok, so I know I just posted a video of Conlee laughing, but this one is way better! Once again, Brent had just gotten home from work and was cracking her up. She was about to get in the bath tub, and that's why her dress is falling off her shoulders. This is definitely my favorite sound in the world!

Bath Time!

Ok, so I've gone a bit crazy with the videos today. I realize that no one thinks my child is as cute as I do...translation: no one else is interested in a million videos of Conlee! But then again, I figure the only people really reading this are Conlee's grandparents, and if you're super bored, you certainly don't have to click 'play'.....but you totally should because my daughter is REALLY fantastic! :)

A little laughter...

I've been trying forever to capture Conlee laughing. She is laughing all the time now...mostly at her daddy...but when she sees me approaching with the camera she immediately gets so serious! This isn't the best video, but it's a little glimpse of just how happy she gets when her daddy gets home from work. It's just priceless to watch them together...it melts my heart each time!

Afternoon at the park, continued...

Since I posted videos below, here are some pics of our favorite girl on her favorite swing...and one with her favorite friend!

Afternoon at the park

Ali & Mia met us up at the park this afternoon. The girls just love swinging and hanging out with each other. They're so cute!

Tutu Tuesday

Conlee and I went shopping for pajamas yesterday. Some people (Brent) would call it a failed mission...Conlee and I, however, choose to view it as the most successful shopping trip EVER! I mean, who can look for pj's when there are RED TUTUS crying out, just begging to be worn!

If you look closely in this first photo, you can see Conlee's two new teeth just barely poking thru!

She's getting so big!!!

These pictures aren't that exciting, but I just had to post them! We were reading yesterday before her nap, and I had to go grab my camera because I could not believe how big she was just sitting there!

I can SIT UP!

Conlee has just started sitting up, and I can't believe how big she's getting! She's 5 1/2 months and she's sitting up, her two bottom front teeth have broken through and she is a veggie eating machine! Her favorite foods are squash, green beans, peas and sweet potatoes. So far, she's not a fan of fruit, but hopefully that will come. It's crazy to think she'll be crawling soon...and then walking and talking. Wow! How time flies!!!

The first two pics are from Monday...she wanted to sit so badly, but she just couldn't hold her trunk up!

And now she's got it! She doesn't last too long without toppling over, but each day she's getting better!

Success!!!

Wednesday at the park

We went to the park yesterday for the first time, and Conlee just loved the swing! She was laughing and smiling and having a great time with her best bud, Mia. The park will definitely be added into our afternoon activity rotation...it's just a few blocks away and so much fun!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Our little ladybug has a pretty bad cold right now, so unfortunately, trick-or-treating just wasn't in the cards this year. That, along with the fact that most of her buddies were out of town, meant that we had a pretty low key night. We did walk down to the beach to snap a few photos of our precious girl. Brent set up the tripod for the first time and that was funny! We did manage to get a few shots of the three of us. It was SO windy, and he forgot the remote control...watching him press the button on the camera and try to make it to get in the picture without tripping on the tripod was really funny....I laughed really hard!

Yummy Green Beans!

Conlee LOVES green beans! It's the craziest thing. We tried to feed her bananas, and I was a little worried because I thought she would love them and not want to go back to eating her veggies. She hated the bananas...kept spitting them out. We switched her back to the green beans and she was so happy. I swear if I hadn't been there, I would question whether or not she's my child!
