Mia and Conlee do St. Patrick's Day

Conlee, Reece and I met up with Ali and Mia yesterday afternoon at the park. After some quality time on the swings and slides, we walked over to Rimels for dinner. The girls, as always, had the best time together!

I had to put this picture of Mia up because she's so beautiful!!! Look at those eyes and her beautiful blonde hair curling in the back. LOVE HER!

Conlee and Mia just talk and talk and talk. It's always been that way with them, but Ali and I are enjoying it so much more now that they're speaking English and we can get in on their conversations!

It was all fun and games until....

...the bill arrived! Getting the check is always such a buzz-kill...these girls couldn't believe the charges...guess this is only the beginning!

Conlee so graciously took care of it all for us. She's such a sweetheart!

A quick kiss before hopping into their rides...

Oh, what the heck! Give me a hug, too!

These girls really are the best of friends!

Family Photos 2011

Ok, you’re going to have to be a loyal and faithful blog follower to hang on for this post! I’m about to go on and on and on…not so much with words, but there are about a million photos below. But I can’t help it! I know I’m biased. I know that every mom thinks their child is the most precious thing around. That is how it should be! But let me just say that I have a physical heart reaction when I see these photos of my little family! Like a real, true tugging on my heart when I look at the faces of these two girls. Obviously Reece is beautiful and stunning and I love her to pieces, but she’s still a baby and not too demonstrative. Conlee, on the other hand…I am absolutely dying over Conlee in these pictures. Could she be any cuter? I think not!

Reece is 4 Months Old!

I cannot believe my sweet baby is already 4 months old! That's 1/3 of a YEAR! How, how, how did this happen? On some levels it's like she's always been here, but in other ways I still have to remind myself I have two little girls. One thing's for sure...nothing around here has been the same since October 31, and we wouldn't have it any other way! Before I had Reece, I couldn't imagine that my heart was big enough to love another baby the way I loved Conlee. I would ask my mom, and she would say, "you just do! You can't imagine it till it's here." That's exactly how it's been with Reece. There were definitely those days in the beginning when I wondered whether I had my 'capable' card...like maybe God forgot who I was when he thought it was a good idea to give me two kiddos! But pretty soon we got in our groove and never looked back. Sweet Reece has rocked our world in the best way, and we are so, so, so VERY thankful for her. What a huge blessing she is in our lives!!!

A few stats on our 4 month old:
Height: 24" (40th percentile)
Weight: 16 lbs, 13 oz (96th percentile, HA!)
(as a side note, at 4 months Conlee weighed the same as Reece, but was 2" longer...)

Reece is such a good baby! She sleeps 12 hours at night (7pm - 7am) and takes 3 naps during the day. She's eating 4 bottles at 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm, and I've decided to hold off on solid food until 5 months. I figure with our move looming, there's no harm in waiting on one more huge life change. Not to mention, solid foods with a 4 month old is a total pain in the butt...I can stand to wait a few more weeks before adding that headache to my daily routine! Reece can't quite roll over yet, but she's getting close. She's constantly sucking on her fingers and she drools like a maniac. I think I can see the buds of her 1st two bottom teeth, but they haven't broken thru the skin just yet. She's getting pretty good at sitting up, but hasn't mastered it all the way. Her little torso is getting stronger each day, and I think she'll be rolling and sitting in no time. She smiles all the time, but mostly at her daddy. She also laughed for the first time with her daddy while he was feeding her after bath time. It is such a precious sound, and I can't wait until we hear it all the time. She loves Sophie the Giraffe, her exersaucer, her soft, plush giraffe from her Gigi and Paps (which for some reason Brent has yet to name...we'll get right on that!), the bumbo and most of all, Conlee. It's the sweetest thing to watch them together. Conlee runs in to Reece's room to wake her up from each nap. As soon as Conlee climbs up to the crib Reece gets a huge smile on her face. I'm really looking forward to Reece being a bit older and being able to interact with Conlee a bit more. But no one is looking forward to that as much as Conlee!!!

Here's our little chunky monkey wearing some of Conlee's old 12 month pajamas! She's such a big girl!

Still not a huge fan of tummy time, but we're having a bit of a flat head problem. We're fighting hard to not have to wear a helmet. I know it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I really want it to self-correct!

Oh my goodness....she has earned every bit of that 96th percentile in the weight department! Look at those rolls!!!

Pretty in Pink

Granddad and EI sent the girls these precious pink smocked dresses today. They also sent them two other adorable pink and brown polka-dot dresses, but it was a miracle I got them to sit for pictures in just one! It was so much easier to do photo shoots when I only had one baby. Conlee is not a fan of sitting still any longer, let alone wearing clothes. Reece will pretty much do whatever I want her to do, but getting Reece dressed is difficult since Conlee is about as "helpful" as a heart attack. Oh well! These turned out pretty cute, and we LOVE our dresses. Thank you, Granddad and EI!!!

Seaworld And The Park

As our days in San Diego are winding down (sniff..sniff..) we are trying to take full advantage of everything fun we can do here in the 70 degree weather. We headed to Seaworld yesterday morning to meet up with Jess and Piper. Conlee loves the Sesame Street Bay of Play area there. We have yet to take her to a dolphin or Shamu show because I've always got Reece too and without Brent, I just can't wrangle the both of them into a stadium! The good news is that our Seaworld pass doesn't expire until May 2012, so we'll be back often on our visits back to San Diego!

Conlee have a big time playing with an entire bathtub full of rubber duckies!

Elmo and Zoe were there today, and Conlee and Piper loved saying hello!

Mia is ever the fashionista! Here she is sporting her hot new heart sunglasses...wherever can a girl get a pair of those?!

She's looking like such a big girl more and more each day...

Sweet Reece is always such a trooper. She's such a good girl, and she loved being at Seaworld and the park.

Maybe she was in such a good mood because she had on a pair of sassy Stuart Weitzman pink shoes?!! I remember my first pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes...they were 4" black stilletos with Swarovski crystals in the heels. They were hot. I wore them to prom my junior year of high school. Now my child is wearing them to the park at 4 months...wow! A big thanks to Rebecca Popp because Reece would not be nearly as stylish if she hadn't sent these precious shoes!!!

Don't you wonder what they're talking about?! If they're anything like their mommies (and they are!) then it's crazy to think that the snack traps in their little hands will quickly be replaced by diet coke...then wine. Oh my!!!

Best Friends Forever

A Few Random Pics...

So the memory on our Mac is completely full, and I haven't been able to upload any new pictures for awhile. Brent is 'working' on it...whatever that means! I've been super frustrated b/c I have been taking all these pictures and finally decided to just put them on my laptop...anyway, here are a few random ones of the girls lately.

Conlee is OBSESSED with Reece. She will not let me go into Reece's room without her for any reason. Ever. As much as it is cute, it's also pretty annoying! But the up-side is I got some cute shots of these little bed-buddies!

The other night we had some bunnies over for dinner! Granddad and EI sent these cute little bunny ears for the girls. Conlee would not wear hers to save her life, so I put them on Reece and started taking her picture alone and telling her how pretty she was. It took about 2 seconds before Conlee demanded I put ears on her and take her picture too! Whatever works, right?!!

We then of course used the opportunity to slip into something a little cuter for a photo! I love these dresses. They remind me of the song "Bullfrogs and Butterflies" that I used to sing as a kid...anyone remember that one?!

She's so serious! I promise she smiles a lot throughout the day...just not when I have the camera pointed at her!
